Shiva Bahadur Chhetri of Paltyang, Badagaun is a commercial farmer. It has been 4 years since he started commercial vegetable farming and animal husbandry. 

Farmer Chhetri is a former Indian Gurkha soldier. After retiring from the military profession. He started commercial farming and animal husbandry by purchasing 8 ropanis of land in Badagaun in 2072 BS. He grows seasonal crops and vegetables like paddy, wheat, tomato, garlic, onion, chilli, cauliflower, cabbage in the field. He has raised cows, buffaloes, pig and has also raised hen and fishes. Because of the large amount of excrement he only uses organic excrement on his farm\

He says he started commercial farming and animal husbandry after retiring from military service to do something in his village. He forced his son who had gone for foreign employment to return home some time ago. Now his son has returned and they are preparing to run an advanced goat farm. He said that his aim is to attract other farmer from the neighborhood who have been engaged in farming and animal husbandry for their livelihood to commercial agriculture.
